“ Extensively revised and updated throughout, with seven entirely new chapters
and the insights of 31 new contributors, the Third Edition reflects the
explosive growth of information in the dynamic field of immunology. Coverage
includes recent groundbreaking discoveries on molecular events that regulate the
immune response, antigen processing and presentation, cytokines, and immune
responses to infectious agents.Six chapters in the Third Edition focus on
completely new topics--immunoglobulin class switching; somatic mutation and
affinity maturation; immunosuppression; and immunity to viruses, intracellular
bacteria, and extracellular bacteria. Antigen processing and presentation, which
were only touched on in the previous edition, are now described in detail in a
separate chapter. Coverage of the role of specific cytokines in the immune
response has been greatly expanded. Chapters on HIV infection, primary
immunodeficiency diseases, allergy and hypersensitivity, and immunoparasitology
have been rewritten by new contributors who are preeminent authorities on these
diseases. All chapters include updated references.

Leon Speroff, Robert H. Glass, Nathan G. Kase, "Clinical Gynecologic
Endocrinology and Infertility" (6th edition)
Lippincott Williams & Wilkins | ISBN 0683303791 | 1999 Year | PDB | 4,6 Mb |
1200 Pages
“ A quarter of a century later, the millennium and our 6th edition! The impact
of our book has been one of the most gratifying experiences in our careers. We
know it has helped many readers to successfully overcome examinations, but, most
rewarding of all, is the recognition of the effect on patient care derived from
the clinical usefulness of our text. An appreciation for this impact carries
with it a profound sense of obligation. We have always understood the importance
of “getting it right” and “causing no harm.” For that reason, every edition is
the culmination of a tremendous effort, an effort increasingly difficult with
the amazing growth of knowledge and communications. In 1972, it was a Royal
portable typewriter. At the millennium, we are armed with a personal computer
and a modem, Word 97 for the text, EndNote for references, and MEDLINE for
searches,
The book grows progressively thicker, reflecting the explosion of knowledge in
reproductive biology and medicine. Nevertheless, we believe we have stayed true
to our objective: to provide both factual knowledge and systematic approaches to
clinical problems. Our text continues to be an expression and formulation of our
collective professional activities as teachers, investigators, and most
importantly, as clinicians in the field of reproductive endocrinology and
infertility. We have tried to retain the style and clinical relevance of our
first edition, but at the same time to provide all the new information. This
basic knowledge is the foundation for the physiologic principles that in turn
are the foundation for our methods of clinical management.
As always, our book is dedicated to the improvement of patient care, and we hope
that it will aid all readers in accomplishing that goal. We are grateful to
those who have taught us, and most of all, we thank our patients, who are our
best teachers.

John Alexander, Chris Pearce, Anne Smith, Delon Whetten,
"Cisco CallManager Fundamentals: A Cisco AVVID Solution" (2nd Edition)
Cisco Press | ISBN 1587051923 | September 20, 2005 Year | CHM | 10,84 Mb | 950
Pages
“ Cisco Systems has lately become aggressive in promoting applications of the IP
network infrastructure equipment that the company has traditionally sold. Cisco
CallManager — the subject of Cisco CallManager Fundamentals — is essentially an
IP-based Public Branch Exchange (PBX) that enables companies to carry their
voice and data traffic on a single network infrastructure. This book explains
how CallManager (originally developed by Selsius Systems) goes about providing
call-control services to IP telephony devices and performing reliably as a
corporate telephone switch, and offers insight into how the product may evolve.
The volume provides systems architects, engineers, and implementation
technicians with the details they need to build strong CallManager systems.
Written by members of the CallManager development team and extensively edited
for accuracy, Cisco CallManager Fundamentals uses prose and remarkably clear
network diagrams to make its points. People looking for a detailed understanding
of how CallManager works will find themselves delighted. While technicians
looking for click-this, click-that procedures will be generally disappointed
(such didactic techniques are not typical of Cisco Press books), they will find
a fair number of sections that explain, in general terms, how to do such
administrative work as loading users' names into a CallManager database and
routing calls to emergency numbers.
Exposes the inner workings of CallManager to help maximize the Cisco IP
Communications solution
— Includes new content on Q.SIG, SIP trunks, video support, hunt lists and line
groups, time-of-day routing, new features added in CallManager releases 3.2,
3.3, 3.4, 4.0, and 4.1, and more
— Updates the only documentation available that details CallManager's inner
workings so readers can understand the role each component plays and how they
interrelate
— Fosters a full understanding of how CallManager processes information; how it
manages media resources for conferencing, transcoding, annunciation and more;
how it interacts with the various protocols; and much more
— Written by CallManager authorities — the engineers and technical writer who
developed the software and its documentation from CallManager's beginnings
Cisco CallManager Fundamentals, Second Ed., provides readers with examples and
reference information on Cisco CallManager, the call processing component of the
Cisco IP Communications solution. It is the only available book and
documentation that describes the architectural layers of CallManager and their
functionality. With this detailed information, readers learn how CallManager
processes calls and manages resources and features. The second edition of Cisco
CallManager Fundamentals covers the latest software releases through release
4.1. With this book, readers can gain a deeper understanding of the system and
find answers to questions not available through any other source.
The book is organized by the major pieces of CallManager: Chapter 1 discusses
architecture and provides a history of CallManager evolution; Chapter 2 details
call routing; Chapter 3 addresses station devices; Chapter 4 describes voice
gateways; Chapter 5 explains how CallManager processes media; Chapter 6 explains
manageability and monitoring tools; Chapter 7 describes call detail records. The
Appendixes describe CallManager features, solutions that integrate with
CallManager, and the signaling protocols CallManager employs.
