We’ve been working extensively with CouchDB in our prototyping and product design. I’ve been scouring the web for all of the knowledge I can find out there, and Bradley Holt pointed me to his latest book (published via O’Reilly), Scaling CouchDB.

Its a pretty short read, weighing in on my iPad at about 50 pages, but it is packed with tons of great tips from Bradley about ways to load balance, load test, and optimize your application design to “work with the grain” of CouchDB.

In my experiences so far, working with the grain of CouchDB affords amazing functionality, so these tips are invaluable if you are just starting out with your first app powered by CouchDB.

Scaling CouchDB also gets you up to speed with the various types of clustering technologies out there that live on top of CouchDB, which you’ll inevitably want to be familiar with once you begin to consider growth in CouchDB.
