Extending Oracle Fusion Middleware for External Web Service Security

Most Enterprises deploy Oracle Fusion Middleware, specifically Oracle* SOA Suite,
for the purposes of internal application integration. A typical case entails using
Oracle* BPEL process manager to orchestrate between internal applications using
the SOA paradigm. In some cases, services are also directly deployed on Oracle*
Weblogic Application server. The internal deployment of web services using the SOA
paradigm lowers development costs and simplifies integration for the Enterprise.
It is now considered a good practice to move away from proprietary data formats
and interfaces and strive towards open standards and service models with XML as a
foundational component.
